Adobe spells it out. Here’s a summary.
When to Use Progressive Download
Progressive download is a perfect use for hobbyists or websites that have low traffic requirements and only need to deliver short videos. Customers who need advanced features and control over their video delivery—not to mention displaying video to large audiences (for example, several hundred simultaneous viewers), tracking and reporting video viewing statistics, or offering the best video experience—should consider streaming video.

1My website design and development team asked me the following question:
” Regarding video format, it is up to you. You will have to tell what format, resolution, bitrate and screen size you will need to whoever is going to produce the final mixdown. Bitrate will determine quality/streaming speed ratio. Preferably, all these should be the same across the board, especially format and screen size.”
I would like to answer this but I am not sure. I will be hosting (shared hosting package) online volleyball recruiting videos for approximately 12 players this year. Each video will be somewhere between 3-5 minutes maximum in length (closer to 3.5). My website it designed with Adobe Cold Fusion 8. Thanks in advance for any help you can send my way.
